The following approach is simple and yet profound. It recognises that movement isn’t about monumental leaps but rather the rhythm of continuous learning and adaptation.
When we feel stuck, it’s often because we’ve entered a loop of stagnation; we’re thinking the same thoughts, reacting in the same ways, and reinforcing the same narratives. The act of learning something new every day disrupts that cycle by injecting fresh perspectives, insights, or skills into our awareness. Learning doesn’t have to mean acquiring academic knowledge; it could be observing an overlooked detail, understanding an emotional reaction, or gaining a new experience.
Making modifications based on that learning immediately is the key to avoiding passive accumulation of information. Many people learn but hesitate to apply their insights. They keep their discoveries theoretical instead of transformative. Even small shifts, like adjusting a habit, reframing a thought, or trying a new approach will create momentum.
I can’t overstate the power of repetition. Growth isn’t a single breakthrough; it’s the discipline of refining, adjusting, and integrating insights day after day. Even when you experience a shift, continuing this process ensures that change remains fluid rather than static.
And this rhythm aligns with natural cycles, like breath, seasons, and the ebb and flow of life. Just as water remains vibrant through motion, life flows when we engage with it dynamically rather than resisting change.
Through the lens of archetypes, different figures will influence this process. For example:
- The Seeker embraces continuous learning, driven by curiosity and openness.
- The Alchemist transforms insights into meaningful change rather than holding onto knowledge passively.
- The Wounded Warrior might resist movement, but finding purpose in struggle helps turn stagnation into wisdom.
In short, my remedy to help you move forward when you’re feeling stuck is to:
- Learn something new every day.
- Make the necessary modifications based on that learning immediately.
- Repeat steps 1 and 2.
This gives rise to the question: “How do I keep moving?”
The answer to this question is to keep repeating steps 1. and 2. and 3., even when you experience a shift. This helps to generate a life that flows.
