As patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving, archetypes are fuel for creativity, ideas and inspiration when you know how to collaborate with them.
When you choose to take on a specific pattern as a frame of mind, you activate a mode of thinking, feeling, choosing, motivating and acting that’s in line with the highest expression of the archetype. It works in reverse, too. When your actions are in line with an archetype, you start to feel and think like the archetype.
When you’re short of ideas, or you need some inspiration, you can tap into the best of the archetype, but you don’t want to do that without first acknowledging the worst. You need to be willing to:
- Learn more about your archetypes.
- Learn from your archetypes.
- Learn how to own the unknown in each of your archetypes.
It’s about developing and maintaining a lifelong relationship with your archetypes. It’s a commitment you make to the core of your soul that is your Sacred Self. An archetype is an unlimited source of knowledge, skills, experience, power and energy so by acknowledging the weaknesses of an archetype, and then its strengths, your mind will find a healthy balance between the extremes.
Each archetype holds a distinct power, perspective, and purpose within you. Instead of relying on one part of your personality, you can tap into the energy of your full inner team of 36+ archetypes. One at a time, of course. Being conscious of the worst of an archetype allows you to address it so you can then engage the best of it with less obstruction. For example, recognising, owning, investigating and tending to the Warrior’s faintheartedness allows you to genuinely engage the courage of a Warrior.
Each archetype has a unique voice. The curious voice of the Child archetype. The visionary voice of the Seeker archetype. The experimental voice of the Alchemist archetype. The humourous voice of the Jester archetype. You can recruit the best archetype for your needs, for fresh ideas, insights or more energy.
Collaborating with your personal archetypes is an intuitive way to access different states of mind that will unlock your creativity, focus, clarity, and drive right when you need it. By learning to recognise and consciously engage your personal archetypes, you can be more flexible, inspired, and inspiring.
