There is a reason your spirit keeps you awake at night. It’s as if we have four bodies knocking at our door: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Regardless of our beliefs, everyone is born with a certain amount of spirit. To put that another way, we are born with a certain amount of life force. To put it one more way, we are born with a certain amount of energy. When we treat ourselves and others well, our energy is renewed. This energy runs out at some point of course but we don’t always know when we’re going to die.
If the pain was deep, you will need to call your energy back into your body and into present time more than once. To transform it and learn from it, you will need to train your life force to stay in your body so you can recognise it, explore it, and nurture it.

When we need healing, we tend not to think of healing as a matter of spirit. Spiritual healing occurs when you learn to manage your personal energy budget. Spiritual healing retrieves your spirit, so you have more energy in your body and soul to live more fully than before. Spiritual healing refuels your body and soul with your spirit.
But.
What some people neglect to mention is that it depends on how much spirit you have left, out there in the cold, to retrieve.
Everyone has a point of no return.
If I’m constantly leaking energy by indulging myself in thoughts, feelings and behaviours that are exhausting or stressful, or generally not good for me and others, and I’ve been doing this for most of my life, then my energy will have spent more time out of my body than in it. As a result, you could say that I’m not thinking, feeling or acting like myself. I’m outside of my Self, which is sacred.
Long term, of course, no one can run their life on low-to-no energy. If you haven’t called your spirit back home into your body and soul for long periods of time, or worse, not ever, then you may be at risk of reaching a point of no return.
You can turn things around before the point of no return by learning to balance your personal energy budget. When you have more energy inside your body than out of it, and you keep it that way, you can expect the benefits to flow through to your mental, emotional and physical health.
A good, long life depends on our willingness to stay on top of our personal energy budget.
