Physical, emotional, and mental freedom is wishful thinking, but true freedom is a spiritual experience. A sense of spiritual freedom could be just one life changing question away.
So what is the question?
Here’s the thing. Actually, two things. There is more than one quest. Everyone has twelve personal archetypes, and each one contains a quest. The other thing is that each question is unique to you. They’re your quests. You have to figure them out.
But.
It’s not hard to identify these quests when you consult your twelve personal archetypes. One at a time, of course. It’s a process of learning to build a dialogue of trust between you and your archetypes. Consulting and collaborating with your archetypes allows you to uncover limiting patterns and experience a breakthrough.
You can’t afford to give self-doubt permission to stop you from identifying and fulfilling the quests that liberate your spirit. Imagine you’re a single parent struggling with self-doubt about taking up a course of study. But then you consult your Saboteur archetype, asking for insights into your doubts and what might be holding you back.
Using a journal, you set some time aside to interview the Saboteur archetype so you can explore your doubts, and the advantages and disadvantages of following through on your idea. So, your question is: what are the pitfalls and benefits of studying this course?
You break the question down into two parts by starting with the pitfalls associated with your new idea. Keeping the Saboteur in mind, you brainstorm all the reasons why you shouldn’t go ahead with this idea. Once your list is complete, you take an objective look at it and review the content. In amongst the list of disadvantages, you find some valid points worth considering, such as:
- Do you need to find extra money to pay for the course so that you’re not left short in other areas?
- Can you set things in place so that you are able to manage child care and study commitments?
- Do you need to consider a part time course over a longer period rather than cramming it in full time?
- Do you need to get tougher in delegating chores to be done around the house?
- Can you be successful and not feel guilty about it?
- Instead of fearing success or failure, can you handle the level of responsibility and power that comes with success appropriately and with integrity?
Next, with the Saboteur still in your mind, you tune into the highest potential of this archetype, with the aim of brainstorming an equal number of reasons why you should go ahead with your course of study. You ask: What are the benefits of undertaking this course?
- It’s something that you would love to do.
- You will meet new friends with similar interests.
- You will have a useful qualification and you have prior experience in the industry.
- You will have created new career options to move into once the children have grown.
- You will have a career, instead of a job, that pays twice as much as your former work.
- You will have shown the children that learning and creating opportunities for yourself doesn’t need to stop. Besides, they might even be encouraged to do their homework by studying with you.
New information often needs time to absorb into your mind, so give it a while to integrate. Sleeping on it is usually my go-to strategy. Then you can ask yourself what feels right for you. What is the direction you need to take for the highest good of all concerned? This helps to make a firm decision one way or the other.
By creating situations where you feel weak and strong at the same time, the combination of both energies will inspire you so that you rise out of patterns of self-destruction and sabotage, and into more of who you are meant to be. It’s basic alchemy that has the potential to transform your doubts and fears into positive action.
Questioning your self-doubt frees you from its grip so you can move forward with more confidence. The process of consulting your archetypes shows how just one archetype and two powerful questions can shift perception and bring you closer to experiencing a sense of inner liberation. You could be just one archetypal quest away from it. But don’t take my word for it. Follow the example above and test it yourself.
