The Purpose of Creative Development for Business Professionals (and fears that block you)

Creative development is useful when:

  • You’ve run out of options
  • You’re stuck in a rut
  • You’ve run out of hope
  • Your goals have escaped you
  • You’re procrastinating or indecisive
  • You need to change the way you’ve been operating but you don’t know where to begin
  • You’re overwhelmed, stressed or anxious
  • You have trouble communicating your message
  • You have too many problems to solve on your own
  • Your personal problems are interfering with your business
  • Your business problems are interfering with your personal life

Fear is a barrier to creativity. But we have to name the fear if we want to capture it and tame it. I know my creativity is reduced if one or more of the following fears listed below overpower my thoughts, feelings or behaviour.

  • Fear of failure
  • Fear of success
  • Fear of inner power
  • Fear of external power
  • Fear of managing inner power
  • Fear of managing external power
  • Fear of shame
  • Fear of humiliation
  • Fear of rejection
  • Fear of abandonment
  • Fear of responsibility
  • Fear of disempowerment
  • Fear of love
  • Fear of fear
  • Fear of being compromised
  • Fear of being corrupted
  • Fear of being controlled

This list is not exhaustive, of course, but removing the barriers that block your creativity is the purpose of creative development.
