There is no magic wand when it comes to manifestation. Some years ago, I listed 101 reasons why our manifestation processes were not working; however, the list is endless. One of the problems with trying to manifest a desire is that we tend to ignore uncomfortable realities. Inside the manifestation process there is an uncomfortable reality.
Here’s what I mean:
If we’re not feeling confident about achieving a desire, then maybe we’re simply not yet competent. Logic then indicates that before proceeding, more knowledge, skills and experience are required.
If we were to go ahead with the process despite heeding our self-doubt, and we refuse to acknowledge and address the personal challenges and obstacles, then in addition to the sacrifices we need to make along the way, all we do is end up reinforcing our sense of incompetence. And our fear of failure and success. No matter how much positive thinking, visualisation and affirmations we’ve employed, we will fail to manifest the dream.
Whereas, identifying our desire, recruiting the best archetypes for the task, describing the outcome we want, recognising the obstacles and sacrifices we need to make, and implementing a plan to manage all of this, ensures the dream is grounded in common sense and evidence-based research1.
Traditional methods2 of manifesting fail to identify and resolve the problems, challenges and obstacles unique to each person, and the issues that may be encountered along the way to manifestation. Traditional methods neglect to explore the sacrifices required by each individual to achieve their desires. They fail to outline a strategy to manage obstacles, challenges, sacrifices and the changes it generates in life as a result. Traditional manifestation processes set people up to fail. Traditional methods give little thought to the negative consequences of achieving a dream and how the changes it brings to the life of the individual and those important to them can be managed. Whereas contemporary methods and techniques for designing and creating our future tend to profile our personal archetypes, mental contrasting and strategies to manage change that are tailored to the unique needs and concerns of the individual.
When we profile the highest potential of our personal archetypes, and we acknowledge their pitfalls, then the challenges, obstacles and the sacrifices to be made can be identified and remedied. This information helps us decide whether or not we’re wasting our time pursing a particular desire. And more often than not, our personal archetypes surprise us with a better option.
Profiling our personal archetypes to manifest what we want provides practical strategies we can implement to manage the process and the inevitable changes it will bring to our circumstances. All of which helps to manage our fear of failure and success.
