Let your inner Judge archetype take a step back and rest for a moment. Spending your thoughts on self-judgment without taking positive action, is debilitating, especially for long periods of time.
Tara Brach, meditation teacher, author, and psychologist teaches that loving kindness can reach its fullest expression when it is deeply felt within the body. We can awaken a sense of warmth, openness, and receptivity to loving kindness through bodily awareness, starting from the inside out now:
Pause.
Stop. The next few minutes belong just to you. Focus on your breath, gently in and out. In and out. In and out.
Relax.
Breathing gently, notice the tension and sensations in your body, especially your forehead, tongue, jaw, neck, shoulders and stomach. As you breathe in, invite into your heart a sense of gentle friendliness, and as you breathe out, let this ease the tension around your body.
Rest.
From here in your heart space, rest in a state of loving presence, allowing whatever arises to simply be, without judgment, for now.
At any moment, we can choose a new beginning, a fresh way of thinking about who we really are, deep in our soul. By welcoming the essence of gentle friendliness toward life, we can practice the embodiment of loving kindness. From there we can loosen the stranglehold that our inner Judge has on our Self, which is sacred.
