The Shapeshifter archetype arrives to remind you that the only constant in your life is within the sanctity of your soul.
You’re having trouble putting your finger on a troubling issue. Manipulation? Gaslighting? You can’t seem to pin it down to understand it. It keeps moving and changing shape. You get the occasional glimpse as it moves in and out of the shadows. You don’t need to let it shape you but who would you be if you let it shape your character? Who would you be if you don’t let it shape you?
One thing is certain. You don’t need to let it shift your spirit away from your truth.
- Name its current shape by using another archetype from the list below to describe it.
- Then brainstorm and list 3 negative attributes and 3 positive attributes for the archetype you’ve chosen to give you insights into the issue.

You may need to repeat these steps, naming a different archetype each time, because the Shapeshifter archetype is the most fluid of all the archetypes. It will continue to change its shape until you’re across the issue that brought it to your attention. One way to do it is to recruit other archetypes to assist you.
Then watch what happens.
You need to watch because, in the ancient tradition of alchemy, something almost magical occurs when elements in opposition are brought together and unified. Transformation occurs when positive and negative forces coalesce because of a third, catalytic agent. That catalyst is your spirit. And the result? One that moves you closer to your truth if you let it.
