A Karma Life

At the heart of personal energy management is the principle of cause and effect. Buddhist philosophy refers to this as karma. Karma promotes intentional action.

When you send your energy – in the form of thoughts, or words or behaviour – on a constructive mission you’re more likely to deliver constructive results. When you send your energy on a destructive mission, the outcome tends to be destruction.

Destruction is a part of the creative life force. And you can’t fight the cycle of life-death-life. Sometimes destruction is necessary for rebirth to take place. Even if rebirth is your intention, the destruction has a price when it causes harm. What are you creating as a result of sending your energy on destructive missions?

Your actions, including your thoughts and words, motivated by your intentions, create imprints on your consciousness. This shapes your future experiences and circumstances

Effective personal energy management depends on your intentions. Karma is based on intent. The result of an action is determined not only by the act but also the intention.

It works like this. Your actions, including your thoughts and words, motivated by your intentions, create imprints on your consciousness. This shapes your future experiences and circumstances. The cycle continues, influencing the quality of your future and the path towards liberation from the cycle of suffering.

By the way, accidental happenings don’t count toward karmic justice or consequences.

While karma influences your experiences, it doesn’t mean you’re stuck with your fate. You have the capacity to shape your future, and therefore your destiny, through mindful, ethical actions. When your focus is on cultivating positive intentions and actions, you can manifest a more fulfilling and constructive future.

At any moment, you have the opportunity to change your karma through intentional, ethical behaviour. Which moment will you choose?
